Anschutz Model 1813 Bolt Action Rifle
Target shooting demands consistency, and competitive rifles such as this Anschutz Model 1813 share that same unrelenting dedication. SN 196676
1991 Anschutz (Germany) Model 1813 Bolt-Action Target Rifle (single-shot/ breech-loading/ smokeless powder/ cartridge ammunition) The latest in target rifle design, this Super Match version is comtemporarily a leader. But comparison to the same model of 1981 (see Case 70 gun #6) shows tht there is always room for improvement, although in this case, one must wonder if much more innovation is possible: the international-style stock has an adjustable cheek-piece, adjustable aluminum hook butt plate, adjustable palm rest, adjustable hand rest, and adjustable length of butt.
The receiver is a masterful demonstration of absolute control in every detail. The barrel is heavy, to prevent any jump or kick from its tiny .22 long rifle caliber cartridge. This rifle constitutes a fitting end to over 500 years of arms production in or for America. Compare this arm to the hand cannon (see Case 5, gun #1) and see how the world has changed. --Dr. William L. Roberts, THE AMERICAN LIBERTY COLLECTION; #192
