This regimentally marked Brown Bess musket was altered from a Long Pattern to a Short Pattern in 1765. These altered muskets were shortened to avoid problems with thinning barrels well-worn at the muzzles. This musket has family attribution to use in conjunction with the battles of Lexington & Concord.
