German G41 rifle
As WWII progressed, German arms designers came up with a hybrid semi-automatic design that would allow for bolt-action operation in the event the gas system became incapacitated. Few of these rifles were issued outside of the Italian sector and they were not well-liked by soldiers that received them as issue.
This firearm was donated in 2007 from the family of Bruce Stern. Mr. Stern's military firearms collection was one of the largest private collections in North America.
