Samuel Depfer Cheek Stock Doglock Rifle

Manufactured circa 1670 and bearing Strasbourg proofmarks, this unusual modified doglock action was fitted to a wheellock stock and features carved ivory adornments, including a sliding patchbox cover. The "dog", or catch is used to secure the cocked lock against accidental release.
