Anschutz Model 1811 Bolt Action Rifle
This early "Super Match" rifle contained nearly every state-of-the-art feature that was available in its day.
1981 Anschutz (Germany) Model 1811 Bolt-Action Target Rifle (single-shot/ breech-loading/ smokeless powder/ cartridge ammunition) Designed and manufactured in Ulm, Germany, Anschutz rifles were imported by Savage Arms from 1923 to 1981. From 1981, Precision Sales International, Inc. continued importation and distribution in the U.S. This early Super Match" rifle contained nearly every state-of-the-art feature that was available in its day.
Nevertheless, more innovation remained to be incorporated into gun design (see Case 47 gun #29 ). Target shooting occupies one of the four main tracks of gun manufacture: protection, sustenance, commerce, and recreation. This top-of-the-line match rifle was very refined for its day. Target shooters always seek the ultimate in precision, refinement, and adjustmant. The Model 1811 continued to improve on all these parameters." --Dr. William L. Roberts, THE AMERICAN LIBERTY COLLECTION; #187
