Kimber Model 82 Custom Classic Bolt Action
These Oregon-made rifles featured fully-adjustable triggers, Mauser-type actions, and hand checkered walnut stocks.
1978 Kimber (U.S.) Model 82 Bolt-Action Detachable Magazine Rifle (repeater/ breech-loading/ smokeless powder/ cartridge ammunition) Made in Clackamas, Oregon beginning in 1978, the Kimber Model 82 is a product of the American west. It features a fully-adjustable trigger, Mauser-type action, and a chrome-molybdenum barrel. Its stock is of fancy-grade select Claro walnut with hand-cut checkering.
In all respects, it seems to be a simple gun that is made for western use. It may never replace the lever-action Winchester in the hearts of many Americans, but it had a place, particularly in the Pacific northwest, where it answered many of the needs of those who purchased it. Unfortunately, depressed conditions in that region forced Kimber to discontinue its operations for a number of years. Manufacturing has resumed, but the company has relocated to the east coast. --Dr. William L. Roberts, THE AMERICAN LIBERTY COLLECTION; #181
