Enfield Snider Rotating Block Conversion Rifle
Other nations, including Canada, followed the American lead in converting muzzleloading arms to breechloaders. The Snider breechloading system was actually the invention of American Jacob Snider, a Philadelphia resdeint who received Patent #69,941 on his design.
