Parkers Snow Co Rifle Musket; Miller Model 1861 58 Caliber Conversion
Thousands of obsolete muzzleloaders were converted to breechloaders during 1865-1867. This conversion breechblock was opened by lifting a release latch, which allowed the block to swing upward. The Meridan Mfg. Co. altered approx 2,000 Model 1861 Muskets using the system patented by William H. and George W. Miller.
