U.S. M. T. Wickham Model 1816 Contract Flintlock Musket
These muskets, manufactured by Wickham and other contractors, were identical to the Model 1816 Muskets produced by the National Armories at Springfield and Harpers Ferry. Some were furnished to the War Department under Federal contract, while others were made either to fill orders for state militia arms or for private sale. Wickham's Philadelphia workshop turned out more than 16,000 muskets between 1822 and 1837.
