1917-A1 Browning / Rock Island Armory - .30-06 caliber

Sam Peckinpah's 1969 classic Western, The Wild Bunch, featured this Browning Model 1917 water-cooled machine gun that was used by Mapache (Emilio Fernandez) and others throughout the movie. The gun receives considerable screen time in the film's final shoot out. It even retains fake blood that can be seen splattered on the ammo box, remnants from the very day the scene was shot.
