The Book of Eli (2010) HK 45
The Book of Eli (2010)
Denzel Washington as Eli
Heckler & Koch HK45 - .45 ACP
Besides wielding a takedown bow and cut-down Remington shotgun,
Denzel Washington relied on this well-worn Heckler and Koch HK45
semi-automatic pistol as backup in tough situations. As with
his character Eli's shotgun, Denzel Washington wrapped the grip
area of this pistol with tape for better traction when
firing. Hollywood prop masters also artificially aged this
pistol by burnishing the metal slide and barrel to give the
appearance of a sidearm that had survived 30 years of infrequent
care and maintenance after civilization ended. Washington
performed all his own stunt work for this film, including firing
hundreds of blank rounds in mock cinematic battles.
