Winchester Model 1892
Winchester Model 1892
.44-40 caliber
This heavily altered Winchester rifle has been made to look like a
Henry rifle of the 1860 - 1865 time period with brass tacks
supposedly added by plains Indians. Even in the early days of
Hollywood, no reproductions were available and a real Henry rifle
was more valuable than most could afford, so few if any were ever
used in films. Numerous substitutes were pressed into service with
the result being a conglomeration of odd looking conversions such
as this.
