J.P. Sauer and Sohn Gew98 Sniper rifle
A limited number of Gew98 service rifles were converted to accept a detachable monocular optical sight that superimposed a pyramidal aiming point in the field of view. Intended for trench warfare engagements where traditional iron sights were too slow, this modified sighting system had low magnification to give better results under low light conditions.
